Imagine yourself, for a minute, sitting in your monthly community meeting, fielding complaints about noisy neighbors and parking disputes and planning the theme for the first barbecue of the summer.
And then, it happens: Mr. Jones, who lives on the corner, raises a complaint about the neighborhood birds. And these aren’t just any old pigeons. Oh no, these are strutting, screeching, downright rude peacocks. When they first moved in a couple of years ago, they weren’t really a problem. But they’ve reproduced, and there’s a whole family of them now, scratching cars and scaring children.
What do you do?
If you’re the Cypress Mills HOA board in Houston, Texas, you call animal control and have those things relocated.
Which, as it turns out, was a pretty good idea. As one resident explained to a local news station, “I did not like it…they just go through your yard looking for food.”
Pretty unpleasant situation on the whole, right?
